What I Talk About When I Talk About Running.

I am reading a book ‘What I Talk About When I Talk About Running‘ by Japanese author Haruki Murakami. I have not had this feeling of connection with any author in recent times as i have with Mr Murakami. Every word makes you feel like a great accomplishment. It feels like you are traveling through a corridor of grandeur.

I have kept myself fairly unaffected with an accepted notion of our outer world. When i see something, i want to see it with, enthusiasm and amazement not with Oh! i have seen this before. I want to maintain the vitality of disconnected. Mr Murakami notoriously notices dead animals and people he sees during his daily run. He sees them as if he is seeing them from sky.

Mr Murakami thinks that their are three essential things that a writer should possess. Talent, focus & concentration and endurance. He says talent is the most risky entity. You have it or you don’t have it. If you have it you can’t control it. And focus and endurance can help you discover those hidden talents. It is least consoling.

  1. Thanks. It's WordPress. It has more bells and whistles under it's belt than Blogger. I am trying to setup a minimalist zen theme with only white background and text.
